Day 5: Chefchaouen Sightseeing – Chefchaouen

Spend the day wandering through the medina’s maze of narrow cobblestone streets and stairways, flanked by whitewashed houses and vibrant blue walls. Day 6: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After a relaxed breakfast in your riad in Chefchaouen, depart in the morning at a comfortable and slow pace with your private driver towards the ancient Roman archaeological site of Volubilis. The route between Chefchaouen and Volubilis offers a beautiful transition between the Rif Mountains and the rolling foothills of the Middle Atlas. This morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will enjoy one of the most authentic cultural experiences of the trip: a Moroccan cooking class in Fes. At 10:00 AM you will meet your chef/culinary host and begin your adventure inside the local markets and traditional souks of Fes. Together, you will shop for fresh ingredients directly from local vendors — vegetables, herbs, spices, olives, preserved lemons, and seasonal produce — learning how to select the perfect items, understanding spice blends, and discovering the cultural importance of Moroccan cooking traditions.

Today is a scenic transition day passing through high plateaus, green valleys, and remote Berber communities. Dinner will be served at your hotel this evening — a calm, restful night to recharge before continuing your journey towards the Agafay Desert and the final stretch to Marrakech.

Day 11: Beni Mellal – Agafay Desert.

After breakfast in Beni Mellal, depart mid-morning towards the Agafay Desert. Today you will enjoy one of the most beautiful transition drives of the trip as you leave the lush agricultural valleys of Beni Mellal and gradually make your way into the rocky desert landscapes on the outskirts of Marrakech. The journey takes you through authentic rural scenery, local farming villages, olive groves, and rolling foothills, offering plenty of opportunities to stop for photos, short walks, or a refreshing tea with a mountain view.

As you begin approaching the Agafay region, the scenery shifts into wide open horizons, stone desert textures and soft earthy tones — giving the feeling of space, silence, and desert freedom without needing to travel all the way to the Sahara.

At 09:30 AM, meet your guide and begin your immersive exploration of the city’s historical and cultural heart. Your first stop is the Koutoubia Mosque, an iconic landmark of Marrakech known for its majestic 12th-century minaret, which towers gracefully above the medina skyline. Although non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque, the exterior alone offers an inspiring introduction to traditional Almohad architecture.

Continue to the splendid Bahia Palace, a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship built in the late 19th century. As you wander through its mosaic-tiled courtyards, lush gardens, and intricately carved wooden ceilings, your guide will share stories of the palace’s past and the lives of those who once lived there.
